Ingredients

  • 2 kg of pork ribs
  • 3 cups of ketchup
  • 2 cups of chili sauce
  • ¼ cup of honey (or sugar)
  • ⅓ cup of minced garlic
  • ⅓ cup of chopped ginger
  • ⅓ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of oregano
  • 1 tablespoon of rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon (or allspice)
  • 1 tablespoon of ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 4 cups of fish sauce
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander
  • 2 thyme stalks
  • Zest of ½ an orange

First, we will start with making the BBQ sauce, by mixing the following ingredients together: ketchup, chili sauce, fish sauce, honey, minced garlic, chopped, ginger, salt, oregano, rosemary, ground cinnamon, and ground white pepper.

Once evenly combined, set aside the BBQ sauce. Then, take out the star of the show, the pork ribs, and cut them into pieces of your preferred size – it’s up to you whether you want to leave it as large pieces to be cut after serving, or pre-cut your ribs into bite-sized pieces.

Next, pour the BBQ sauce into the pan or pot, add 4 cups of water to the sauce, and stir the sauce until you get an even consistency. Finally, add the sauce to your pork ribs to be cooked.

To make this BBQ Pork Ribs dish even more flavorful, add black pepper, bay leaf, coriander, thyme, and grated orange zest, while boiling the ribs in the BBQ sauce.

Once the pork ribs are cooked to a boil, continue to simmer over low heat for 1.5-2 hours – this will allow the pork to soften and the sauce to penetrate the meat.

Brush the pork ribs that have been simmered and softened with more BBQ sauce before roasting the ribs in the oven for 10-13 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.

Add more sauce depending on your preference.

Once done in the oven, your BBQ Pork Ribs are ready to be served! The secret to this recipe is to simmer the ribs until they become tender – this way, the meat will slide off the bones easily for you to enjoy this delicious meal mess-free.

This BBQ Pork Ribs recipe is not only easy to execute, it’s suitable for special occasions as well. To take this dish to the next level, pair it with a cool Singha and enjoy the rich BBQ flavors being enhanced.

So, don’t worry about wasting time lining up for a table at restaurants this week, just cook up a simple but heartwarming meal at home with your loved ones. A perfect way to switch off and recharge!
